The Urgent Team Family of Urgent Care & Walk-In Centers recently announced a joint venture partnership with Baptist Memorial Health Care. The venture will create a branded network of walk-in urgent and family care centers throughout key markets in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Urgent Team currently operates more than 85 centers in five states under seven brands including Baptist Memorial. Beginning in Q1 of 2024, 10 existing Urgent Team locations will launch a rebranding as Baptist Urgent Care centers. An additional new location in Germantown, Tennessee, will open in mid-March. The joint venture aims to expand the total number of walk-in urgent care locations in the months to come. Founded in 2011 and backed by private equity, Urgent Team currently employs more than 1,000 people and posts revenue of more than $100 million.
Who’s next? “Baptist Memorial Health Care is the 34th largest health system nationally with 22 hospitals spanning Mississippi, West Tennessee, and Arkansas. There are still a lot of health systems ripe for urgent care growth, including large health systems that may be less visible on a national stage because they’re located in rural geographies,” says Alan Ayers, MBA, MAcc, president of Experity Networks and Practice Management Editor of JUCM.
