Urgent care providers have been proficient in treating patients with influenza for a very long time. That’s not to say it’s ever been simple, of course, as the formulation for each season’s vaccine is an educated guess that leaves little time to assess how severe the caseload will be. COVID-19, of course, required a very steep learning curve across every practice setting—but, again, urgent care providers proved up to the task. That’s a good thing, too, because both flu and COVID will be with us year in, year out (even overlapping to make things all the more challenging). With both viruses constantly evolving, keeping current can be a daunting task. So, we’re pleased to invite you to attend Updates on Influenza and COVID-19: Trends and Treatments, a free webinar scheduled for Wednesday, March 8 at 3:30 pm, EST. Facilitator Lindsey E. Fish, MD, medical director at Denver Health’s Peña Southwest Urgent Care Clinic and assistant professor of medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, will lead an expansive discussion of the epidemiology of both viruses, as well as their timely diagnosis, trends in treatment, and emerging guidelines. Dr. Fish’s presentation will be followed by a live Q&A session. JUCM is able to invite you to attend at no charge thanks to the sponsorship of Visby.
