Diagnosis: The x-ray reveals a Salter-Harris III fracture of the distaltibia (arrow). Salter-Harris III fractures involve the epiphysis and physis. This child’s growth plates have already begun to fuse. Urgent follow up with orthopedics is necessary for this fracture.
