When is a free physical not free, but still a bargain? When the true cost is a donation—in any amount the patient chooses—to a charity for children. That’s the deal New England Urgent Care is offering at its West Hartford, CT location for the next couple of weeks. They’ll conduct physicals for children who need one before they can go to summer camp, waiving their normal fee in exchange for a donation of any amount to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which was started by the late actor Paul Newman for children who are seriously ill. New England Urgent Care is conducting the free physicals over a 4-hour period on Tuesdays through June 12. The physicals are available on a walk-in basis, in keeping with normal urgent care practices. In promoting the initiative through local media, New England Urgent Care has also been able to educate area residents of their capabilities and the convenience of visiting an urgent care center when a need occurs.
