JUCM is now under the leadership of Lindsey E. Fish, MD, who serves as Editor in Chief and will guide and expand JUCM’s clinical content to advance the practice and professionalism of urgent care medicine worldwide. Fish is the Medical Director of Denver Health’s Peña Urgent Care Clinic in Denver, Colorado, a Federally Qualified Health Center urgent care clinic that delivers more than 27,000 visits per year. In her Medical Director role, she is responsible for clinician supervision, clinic operations, nursing/support staff leadership supervision and collaboration with the greater organization. Additionally, she is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Over the last decade, she has clinically precepted more than 200 learners and has presented more than a dozen state and national webinars to nearly 3,000 attendees. This year, Fish won the Joseph Toscano Inspiring Excellence Award from the College of Urgent Care Medicine(CUCM)—an award presented to a member of the College with 5 or more years of medical experience in urgent or emergency medicine who has made significant and sustained contributions to the industry by inspiring excellence. More than 20 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious scientific journals including JUCM feature Fish’s byline, and she has received $410,000 in grant funding to date to support pivotal research projects.
