Pamela Sullivan, MD, MBA, FACP, PT was officially introduced as the newly elected president of the Urgent Care Association’s Board of Directors during the 2017 Urgent Care Convention & Expo, held this week in National Harbor, MD. Sullivan takes over from Steve Sellars, MBA, who served as president for the 2016–2017 term. In accepting the position, she stressed the necessity to help patients understand “their evolving healthcare options, while innovating new business models and processes to support our members.” Sullivan is currently the facility medical director of emergency services at Oneida Healthcare in Oneida, NY, part of TEAMHealth, which provides outsourcing services including urgent care, occupational health, emergency medicine, hospitalist medicine and other services. She spent almost 20 years as an attending physician in multiple emergency departments and was the medical director of Rochester Immediate Care in Webster, NY. She has also been a UCA board member since 2013. UCA CEO Laurel Stoimenoff noted that Sullivan’s dual expertise as a physician and administrator will serve her and the association well as the industry continues its steady growth and diversification.
